November 2012:

Anna Schukat successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis on Nov. 21.

GENUS plenary meeting 13.10.-14.10. at the IOW in Rostock Warnemünde. We were honored by an official visit of H.E. Neville Gertze, the Ambassador of the Republic of Namibia, who stressed the importance of the very fruitful research cooperation between Namibia and Germany.

October 2012:

Benguela Current Commission (BCC) Conference from 15.10.-19.10. in Windhoek, Namibia with talks presented by Chris Bartholomae, Beau Tjizoo, Richard Horaeb, Chibo Chikwililwa, Bettina Martin, Volker Mohrholz, Niko Lahajnar, and Werner Ekau.

August 2012:

GENUS has submitted its application for the Norddeutscher Wissenschaftspreis (Northern German Scientifc Award) 2012. Several institutions from Hamburg, Bremen, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern compete with their scientific and marine-oriented projects for this newly launched award.
