ADCP-Workshop at NatMIRC in May 2013
As part of the GENUS capacity building program, Dr. Volker Mohrholz, Dr. Anja Eggert and Toralf Heene from the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde organized a "Workshop on operation and data processing of Vessel Mounted ADCP" at the National Marine Information and Research Centre (NatMIRC) in Swakopmund (Namibia) from May 27-31 2013.
The workshop focused on operation and data processing of Vessel Mounted Acoustic Doppler current profiler (vmADCP). It included (1) lectures on planning deployments and operation of a vmADCP, (2) operation of this instrument at sea with the Namibian RV MIRABILIS, (3) data acquisition tools, (4) processing and time series analysis of vmADCP data.
Namibian scientists and technical employees from the NatMIRC and from the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources in Lüderitz successfully participated in this workshop.
